As a type of chemical protective clothing, medical protective clothing is mainly used for medical personnel to wear. The ideal medical protective clothing should be multifunctional. It should not only protect medical staff from toxic and harmful liquids, gases or infectious viruses and microorganisms, but also be comfortable to wear. Breathable, antibacterial and anti-allergenic, and must not endanger human health. In addition, the choice of protective clothing fabrics should also consider cost and environmental protection issues after disposal.

It is required to achieve "three rejections and one antibody", that is, water repellent, blood repellant, alcohol repellant and antistatic medical protective clothing. Different from general woven materials, special composite materials are used, which can be composited by different materials, such as using Polyethylene/polypropylene spunbond non-woven fabric, composite with breathable microporous film or other non-woven fabric, or spunlace non-woven fabric with breathable microporous film, or composite spunlace non-woven fabric with wood pulp. The non-woven materials used in several medical protective clothing currently being sold and developed in the domestic market mainly include the following:

◆Polypropylene spunbond fabric

◆Polyester fiber and wood pulp composite spunlace cloth

◆Polypropylene spunbond-meltblown-spunbond composite non-woven fabric, namely SMS or SMMS

◆Polymer coated fabric

◆Polyethylene breathable film/non-woven composite fabric

◆ TPU moisture-permeable film/non-woven composite fabric

Common medical protective clothing is usually a one-piece structure composed of hats, tops, and pants. There are strict standards in production, including protection (sealing), wearability, and safety and hygiene. The medical protective clothing that can be made by cutting, suturing, tightening, and gluing the rubber strips is inseparable from these three processes: flat seam, overlock, and glue.
